THE LECTURERS’ IMMEDIACY ATTRIBUTES AND STUDENTS’ WILLINGNESS TO COMMUNICATE, ARE THEY CORRELATED?

The purposes of this research were two-fold: first, to see whether or not lecturers’ immediacy behaviors linearly related their students’ Willingness Communicate (WTC); second, determine which behavior (Verbal Nonverbal) predominantly impacted on WTC. To achieve the purposes, two types questionnaires utilized, 1) WTC and 2) immediacy. Later, participants asked choose 1–5 scales question item. There 122 EFL public university students from Western part Indonesia who partook in study. They involved voluntarily chosen randomly. For data analysis, bivariate calculation was applied find associations between variables tested. Thus, SPSS 26 utilized meet statistical analysis required. result showed that positively strongly correlated with a correlation value 0.716. However, if compared nonverbal, verbal traits had given strongest positive association. It described by Pearson found, 0.689 (verbal) 0.502 (nonverbal). With regard study’s findings, educators all levels must be aware so can controlled way.
